BIRMA is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization that strives to protect and preserve the vested rights, benefits and privileges of retired Armed Forces community; to foster the welfare of widows and dependent children of retired Armed Forces personnel; to provide a means of social contact for all members and their families; and to perform community service projects including an annual scholarship grant for children of BIRMA members and other candidates.
BIRMA has about 100 members from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard, including spouses, who meet bi-monthly at various Big Island locations.
We also strive
- to perform community service projects while having some fun
- to provide a voice of the Retired Military Community on the Big Island of Hawaii
Annual dues are $20 for Singles or Couples; $12 for age seventy-one and over. Life membership is also an option for members over age 65.
Board of Directors meetings are held bi-monthly before our general meeting and all members are invited to attend.
